DERMAPEN AND DERMASTAMP
Micro-needling is a popular cosmetic procedure that penetrates deep layers of skin, unlike any other skin therapy. This technique reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, softens acne scars, treats hyperpigmentation, and stimulates hair growth and collagen production. Dermapen and dermastamp are micro-needling devices that deliver punctures in the skin at about 0.1-3.5mm in depth. While there are many micro-needling devices on the market today, they require a skilful practitioner for safe and effective use.
DERMAPEN
A dermapen is a handheld, pen-like tool that is used to penetrate the skin's surface in a stamp-like way. Another characteristic of this device is that it comes with an adjustable needle depth at different modes of speed. A dermapen treats small, isolated areas rather than a wide region, which is useful for targeting wrinkles or small scars.
DERMASTAMP
A dermastamp combines the effects of a dermapen and dermaroller. The dermastamp's head closely resembles a stamp that is pressed against the skin's surface vertically. The dermastamp has a large, flat surface with tiny needles inside. Due to its flat surface, the device is stamped onto the skin to treat large areas. The main difference between a dermapen and dermastamp is that one is electrically powered while the other is applied to the skin manually.
RECOVERY
After treatment, the skin becomes slightly irritated. Cold compression help reduce inflammation and soothe the skin right after micro-needling treatment.
